Child Care Subsidy in Washington
In Washington, Bezos Academy is an approved provider for Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) and King County Best Starts for Kids (BSK). WCCC is available for all Washington families, and BSK is available for families living in King County who do not qualify for WCCC.
Washington Subsidy Eligibility Requirements

- Apply online: Visit the Washington Connection website to create a Secure Access Washington (SAW) account
- Apply via phone: 1-844-626-8687
- Apply via paper application: Available at local community service organizations
To qualify for WCCC, families must meet the following requirements:
- The child and family must live in Washington state.
- The total household income must be below 60% of the State Median Income (SMI) at the time of application.
- A parent or caregiver must be participating in at least one of the following:
- Legal employed or self-employed.
- High school or high school equivalency programs (for parents age 21 or younger).
- Full-time attendance at a community, vocational, technical, or tribal college to earn an associate or vocational degree.
- Part-time attendance at a community, vocational, technical, or tribal college to receive an associate or vocational degree and working at least 20 hours per week.
- Participation in a WorkFirst or Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET) plan.
- The family must have resources under $1 million

To qualify for BSK, families must meet the following requirements:
- The child and family must live in King County, Washington.
- The total household income must be below 85% of the State Median Income (SMI) at the time of application.
- Families must choose a licensed child care provider.
- The family must be ineligible for WCCC subsidy or not well served by existing programs.
