Building Bonds Across Generations

Bezos Academy students share flowers with Wesley Homes residents.

EdSurge recently wrote an article highlighting our Des Moines preschool, located at a senior living facility, and the wonderful interactions between Bezos Academy students and Wesley Homes residents. The generations regularly come together for activities like reading sessions and “Fun Fridays,” where they make things like playdough and put on puppet shows. They’ve even produced a play together.

These moments are not just fun; they’re incredibly beneficial too. Kids learn social skills, empathy, and motor skills, while seniors find joy and purpose. It’s a win-win!
